Submitted by: Micheal Kelley

It is not very surprising to know that writing a history term paper can be quite enjoyable for students especially if it s on the topic of their particular interest. However, most students do not possess the required custom term paper writing skills which is a deficiency that could undermine their chances to come up with a good history term paper despite them having sufficient knowledge of the subject. Given below are helpful tips on how to write a history term paper in an effective way.

After conducting comprehensive academic research on the topic question of your history term paper, organise the data and information gathered for appropriate use in the relevant sections. Once you have compiled your research material properly, make a rough draft of your history term paper in the following manner.

Write the introduction of your history term pape

The introduction of the history term paper contains your thesis statement and describes what you will state in your term paper. The introduction should be written in an interesting style in order to seize the attention of the readers.

Write the main body of your history term pape

This is an important section where you give your detailed arguments and the proof to support the thesis statement of your history term paper. It should be written articulately in order to retain the readers interest throughout the term paper.

Carefully write the conclusion

The conclusion of your history term paper is basically a summary of what you have stated in the body text. Restate your response to the topic question and assert how it supports your thesis statement in a concise yet strong fashion.

Thoroughly proofread and edit the draft of your history term pape

Once the rough draft of your history term paper is complete, proofread and edit the draft with due focus on grammar and spelling errors. Review your history term paper at least 3 times after thorough proofreading to ensure no point in the term paper is irrelevant to your topic question.

Buffalo, New York snow storm closes schools, leaves nearly 400,000 without power

Buffalo, New York snow storm closes schools, leaves nearly 400,000 without power

Friday, October 13, 2006

Buffalo, New York —Lake effect snow has come early to parts of Western New York prompting a State of Emergency and a flood watch to be issued, especially in Buffalo, New York and its suburbs where nearly 2 feet of snow fell during the afternoon and last night. Snow started to fall at around 12:00 pm EST on Thursday, October 12, heavy at times, and accompanied by thunder and lightning. Forecasters called the weather event “unprecedented.” A driving ban has been issued for Tonawanda, New York, Buffalo and Amherst where at least “80% of roads in Amherst are impassible.” The Buffalo Niagara International Airport opened at almost 3:30 p.m. [EST]. The New York State Throughway, or interstate 90 is closed from nearly Rochester, New York to Dunkirk, New York which is nearly 110 miles long. Motorists at the Williamsville, New York toll barrier are being turned around. A driving ban remains in effect while a state of emergency exists.

Water will be shut off in 24 hours due to the lack of electricity to water pumps in the area and in a press conference, Mayor of Buffalo, Byron Brown issued a “boil water advisory.” Brown also said that “70,000 of the 75,000 residents and businesses in Amherst are still without power.” Residents are asked to bottle water and prepare for the outage. It is not known when water will be turned back on. At least 30 water intake pumps in Erie County, out of the 50 the county has, have no power. Officials say that businesses and residents could be out of water by 5:00 p.m. [EST].

At least 3 people have been killed due to the storm. Two of those people were killed in a two-car accident in Lancaster, New York, and the other person was in Niagara County and died after being hit by a vehicle. One person was crushed and killed by a falling tree in Amherst, while in the process of removing snow from his property.

Hundreds of trees have snapped in half as the snow began to fall around the city. Many trees, which still have their leaves, have broken into pieces as the heavy, wet snow began to pile up, as much as an inch an hour. Early on Thursday, the airport had received nearly 9 inches (23cm) of snow and climbing. The storm has caused many delays and cancellations in flights leaving from or going to Buffalo.

Nearly 400,000 people in Buffalo and surrounding suburbs are still without power and forecasters at the NOAA are warning people “not to go outside in an area where heavy snow has fallen unless absolutely necessary.” Power may not be restored to the affected areas until Sunday and possibly next week in some areas. Damage to trees is extensive with nearly every tree destroyed on Granger Place in Buffalo.

“This was extremely heavy snow and most of the trees still have most of their leaves … we can’t do a complete damage assessment until the snow stops falling,” said spokesman for Niagara Mohawk, Western New York’s area power company, Steve Brady.

“At 8 pm [on Thursday], utility companies were reporting over 50,000 customers without power. The reason for the widespread power outages has been the combination of very heavy water laden snow accumulating on the trees that still have most of their leaves. Tree’s limbs break under the weight of the snow and bring down power lines as they fall,” said a statement on NOAA’s website.

“[This is the] snowiest day in 137 years [of weather records]. Six inches of snow occurred on October 13, 1909 and again on October 31, 1917,” added the NOAA weather statement.

Many business and nearly every school in Western New York are still closed due to the weather and the snow is forecasted to move south again over the Buffalo Metropolitan area, but snow amounts are not expected to be significant. Wind is expected to be strong and gusty which could bring down tree limbs which are broken but still attached to the tree. Some areas could se an additional 6 inches of snow by Saturday morning.

The flood watch takes effect at 2:00 p.m. [EST] and continues through Saturday.

‘Homer Simpson’ contributes to U.S. presidential candidate Buddy Roemer
April 23rd, 2021 | Uncategorized |

Monday, October 17, 2011

The Huffington Post reported Friday that U.S. presidential candidate Buddy Roemer received a $25 campaign donation from an individual listed as ‘Homer Simpson’; the same name as the main character of the long running animated television series The Simpsons. Along with the name, the donor also shares the cartoon character’s place of residence and employment. He claims to live at 742 Evergreen Terrace, and to work as Safety Inspector at Springfield Nuclear Power Plant.

The Huff Post discovered the July 31 donation while analyzing Roemer’s Federal Election Commission records. After being notified, Roemer’s campaign manager, Carlos Sierra, responded “Oh my God. That is too funny”. He added that the campaign uses “one of the best accountants in the business,” and that he would personally find out who actually made the donation. Sierra noted that “we do not accept anonymous donations”.

Roemer, who previously served as a member of the House of Representatives (1981–1988) and Governor of Louisiana (1988–1992), has been running for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination since earlier this year. However, he has failed to receive invitations to any presidential debates.

Roemer, who recently expressed his support for the Occupy Wall Street protests, has focused his campaign on finance reform, and has limited individual contributions to $100. In the third quarter of 2011, he raised $138,000.

Wikinews contacted Carlos Sierra yesterday for an update on the matter. He explained, “I reached out to the individual and he was very apologetic. I have the correct information now and will turn it over to our compliance officer.”

Boosting Your Life With Daily Exercise

April 21st, 2021 | Accounting Firm |

Submitted by: Garry Robbins

Benefits of Exercise

Exercise is not only about muscles and aerobics. Whilst exercise will improve your physique and health, it also has even greater benefits for your brain power, mood and overall energy.

Eases Anxiety and Stress

A fifteen minute bike ride will not instantly make your troubles disappear but it is a start. Exercising regularly will help you take control of the anxiety and stress that riddles your life. Aerobic exercise will release hormones that help reduce anxiety and stress, while promoting a sense of well being. If you feel angry or stressed after a particularly annoying day at work do yourself a favour, get on the bike or go for a run and literally just burn it all out of you! It works wonders, trust me.

Sharpens Brainpowe

The same endorphin which makes you feel good about yourself helps you become more mentally sharp and focused on tasks at hand. Your brain will also be stimulated with regular exercise which helps the growth of new brain cells and prevents age related decline.

Lifts Your Mood

Exercise is effective in treating symptoms of mild to moderate depression similar to that of antidepressant medication. Regular exercise releases powerful chemicals into your brain that helps energize your spirit and prevents you from falling into the dumps.

Improves Self Esteem

Regular exercise is like an investment in mind, body and soul. Once exercise becomes a habit it can bring forth a sense of self worth which will make you feel powerful and strong.

Boosts Energy

If you want to be full of beans and bubbling with energy during the day and enjoy a good, restful night s sleep at night there is no better tonic than exercise. Begin your exercise routine with a few minutes of aerobics each day and increase your workout as you begin to feel more energized.

Obstacles to Exercise

With exercise offering numerous life changing benefits, what is it that holds people back and makes exercise feel like a chore? Many people view exercise as something only for the athletic and young or for those who have less busy schedules. Perhaps you believe the commonly held myths that exercise is more painful and arduous than it really is. You must first separate fact from fiction if you are to overcome obstacles to exercise.

No Time to Exercise

Research shows that short, low impact intervals of exercise will play a powerful role in supercharging your health. If you take out your dog for a 15 minute walk, your body will benefit greatly.

Exercise is too Painful and Difficult

Consider the powerful phrase, no pain, no gain . Yeah I know, it s pretty cheesy stuff, inducing nightmare visions of 80s disco, legwarmers and Mr. T in purple spandex, but retro though the phrase may be, it s as true today as it ever was.

Current studies have shown that you don t have to make your exercise routine hurt for it to be effective. Avoid pushing yourself to get results. Build your fitness and strength slowly by swimming, walking, cleaning the house or playing golf.

I m too Tired

This is a very common reason why people avoid exercise. If you think that working out will make you more worn out, the opposite in fact is true. Studies have indicated that regular exercise makes you feel energized and rejuvenated. It can reduce fatigue to a significant extent.

I m not Athletic

You may not be the sporty type, fair enough. And you might not have cat-like reflexes when it comes to catching or throwing balls, yeah, ok, but so what? Why should that preclude you from exercising? You can walk surely, right? Ride a bike? Good, get started.

My Health is not Good

It is not too late to start building your physical fitness and strength even if you are a senior. You may have never really exercised before, but exercise is known to treat arthritis, diabetes and other medical conditions. So speak to your doctor about following a safe exercise routine.

The Need to Exercise

If you want to feel better, be less fatigued and live longer look no further than regular exercise. The health benefits derived from regular exercise are hard to ignore. Exercise can help both prevent weight gain and maintain weight loss. When you engage your body in physical activity, you will burn calories. You don t have to exercise for large chunks of time to reap benefits of weight loss.

If you are worrying about high blood pressure or heart disease, exercise is your answer. Being active on a daily basis will help your blood flow smoothly, decrease cardiovascular disease and a range of health concerns and problems like strokes, depression, type 2 diabetes, arthritis and even certain types of cancers.

If you are looking to blow off some steam a brisk 30 minute walk can help. Physical activity helps stimulate brain chemicals which leave you feeling more relaxed and happier. Exercise may also give your self image a boost, which helps improve your confidence.

Physical activity and exercise are a fun way to spend your time. Exercise gives you the chance to enjoy the outdoors, unwind or engage in activities that you like. Physical activity can be a bridge to connecting with your friends and family in fun social settings. So think about hitting the hiking trails, joining a dance class or a soccer team. Look for an activity that you enjoy and just do it. If you get bored try something new! Physical activity and exercise will not only make you feel better it provides measurable health benefits and it s also fun. So make it your goal to incorporate at least 30 minutes of exercise every day, there is no better way to improve the overall quality of your life.

There is so many different things you can do with excercise I even tried Yoga but try a gym or just get out and walk.

Power outage traps 180 people in Gateway Arch

Power outage traps 180 people in Gateway Arch
April 21st, 2021 | Uncategorized |

Sunday, July 22, 2007

On Saturday at 8:45 p.m. (CST), a power outage due to equipment failure at the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri trapped 40 people in the two arch trams and 100 people in the observation center at the top of the Arch.

It took about two hours to evacuate the south tram after one of the nine cables supporting the tram car possibly snapped because of a power failure. The north side tram and people in the observation center had to walk down approximately 300 feet of steps to a freight elevator to be taken to the bottom of the Arch. They were met by anxious families who had been waiting for hours outside the Arch. Two people needed treatment for minor injuries.

The Gateway Arch will be back open Sunday with only the north tram operating. The National Park Service opened the Gateway Arch in 1966 and is one of the region’s most popular attractions.

Microsoft extends warranty for all Xbox 360s">
Microsoft extends warranty for all Xbox 360s

April 21st, 2021 | Uncategorized |

Saturday, December 23, 2006

On December 22, 2006 Microsoft has announced that it has extended its warranty for all Xbox 360 video game consoles to one year in the United States. While this one year warranty applies to all Xbox 360 software as well, Xbox 360 accessories will still carry their original 90 day warranty.

According to a statement by Microsoft:

“Customers that experience hardware issues with their Xbox 360 within one year of purchase will have their consoles repaired at no cost. Moreover, the new warranty policy is retroactive, so consumers that may have already paid for out-of-warranty Xbox 360 repair within one year of the console’s purchase will be eligible for reimbursement of their console repair charges.”

This extension should help ease customers’ minds who have been concerned with the Xbox 360’s reputation for hardware failures. A partial list of hardware issues can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360_technical_problems

People who have paid for Xbox 360 repair will be automatically distributed a reimbursement check in about 10 weeks from the present date.

Previously in September, 2006, Microsoft had waived the cost for repairs on all Xbox 360 consoles made before January 1, 2006, and refunded any fees already paid.

A full description of the updated warranty can be found here: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemsetup/xbox360/resources/warranty.htm

Voluntary sterilization of poor women proposed by Louisiana state legislator">
Voluntary sterilization of poor women proposed by Louisiana state legislator

April 21st, 2021 | Uncategorized |

Thursday, September 25, 2008

A Louisiana representative has proposed a controversial solution to “generational welfare,” which would pay women on welfare to get sterilization. Republican John LaBruzzo said he thought of the idea because of his constituents’ outrage over paying for welfare.

“You have these people who are just fed up with working their buns off to try to provide for their own family and being forced by the government [to] provide for others’ families who just want to have unlimited kids”, he commented. He is currently working with Baton Rouge to gather data in support of his proposal.

The idea, which LaBruzzo has not finished forming, would award any woman on government assistance a check of $1,000 if she gets a tubal ligation operation. LaBruzzo is also considering rewarding sterilization in poor men and giving tax incentives for higher-income families to have more children.

Is this proposal modern-day eugenics?

LaBruzzo, who is pro-life, said that the people “on the other side of the political spectrum are pro-choice. Well, let’s give these people the ability to choose.”

While LaBruzzo has stated that he has received an outpouring of support over his idea, the ACLU spoke out against the proposal and called it a “meanspirited attempt to eliminate the poor.” Planned Parenthood representative Julie Mickelberry called it a “bribery”, suggesting a solution which attacked the root of the problem was needed and that the representative needed to “go back to addressing issues of education about unintended pregnancy and opening healthcare access.”

Real Male Organ Health Facts 5 Manual Pleasuring Myths Busted

April 20th, 2021 | Bodybuilding Products |

Sincethe beginnings of recorded history, there is evidence that manual pleasuring a healthy, natural activity in both men and women has been frowned upon, oreven downright forbidden, as an act that can cause physiological and/orspiritual damage. It is not the aim of this article to address the moral issuesrelated to self-pleasuring, as these are highly individualized. On the otherhand, many men have been exposed to an endless mythology about everything thatcan go wrong due to manual pleasuring, leading to feelings of guilt or fear inmen who engage in the practice. Here, some of these myths are addressed, withan explanation as to why they are simply not true; and in addition, we offersomemale organ caretips for keeping things healthy.

Myth#1: Manual pleasuring causes blindness

Theidea that self-stimulation can lead to loss of sight is centuries old. It islikely that this myth grew up around a need to discourage children fromexperimenting by threatening them with terrible consequences, but there is noscientific evidence linking the practice to blindness.

Myth#2: Manual pleasuring causes hair loss

Thisnotion may seem reasonable on a certain level. Self-stimulation, as well aspartner relations, is linked to increased levels of androgen, which are in turnlinked to male-pattern baldness. However, while theurgeto get off is linked to androgen, theact itself does not increase androgen levels in the blood, and therefore, arguing that self-pleasure causes baldness is misleading.

Myth#3: Manual pleasuring causes excessive hairgrowth

Thenotorious hair-on-the-palms rumor likely falls under the same category as theblindness myth. It is easy to see where a male would be discouraged fromexperimenting if he were afraid that the evidence would be plainly visible toeveryone. However, if this were the case, then most men would have hairy palms, and it is a safe bet that anyone reading this article would be among them.

Myth#4: Manual pleasuring causes infertility

Aswith the idea of hair loss, it might seem to make sense that spilling seedthrough manual pleasuring would lead to a loss of fertility. It is true thatright after release, a man will not have has many swimmers in the reservoirs, but the supply will quickly rebuild itself. In fact, the use it or lose itprinciple applies here, and men who do not take the opportunity to releaseevery so often may actually have fewer reproductive cells than those who takeadvantage of the occasional alone time.

Myth#5: Manual pleasuring causes weakness

Insome cultures, the release of male fluid (without the benefit of a femalepartner) is viewed as weakening a man, and those who do engage from time totime may believe that any feelings of fatigue or illness are related to theirexperimenting with self-pleasure. Again, no scientific link has ever been foundbetween weakness and manual pleasuring, so it is likely that any relatedphysiological problems are really all in an individuals head.

Caringfor the manhood and preventing manual pleasuring-related issues

Whilemanual pleasuring is certainly normal, and many of the stories told to preventmales from exploring their bodies simply are not grounded in fact, men canexperience some adverse side effects of self-pleasuring IFthey do not exercise some precautionsand engage in adequate male organ care.

Vigorousmanual stroking creates heat and friction, which can leave the skin feeling rawand chafed. Over time, this causes a thickened, protective layer of skin todevelop that can dull sensation and make it more difficult to experiencesensory pleasure. In addition, hard pulling or lying on a bed or pillow toself-stimulate creates a risk of bruising and other injury. In order to preventthese issues, a more gentle approach is recommended, and an appropriate lubricantshould be part of every session.

Toavoid friction injuries and reduce the risk of lost male organ sensation, ahigh qualitymale organ health creme(health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil)can be applied tothe skin on a daily basis. Using a moisturizing, vitamin-rich cream as part ofthe daily male organ care regimen is a good way to improve overall male organhealth so that every experience solo or with a partner is more satisfyingand fulfilling.

Open source game developer Perttu Ahola talks about Minetest with Wikinews

April 19th, 2021 | Uncategorized |

Tuesday, June 30, 2020

Recently, Finnish open-source video game developer Perttu Ahola discussed Minetest, his “longest ever project”, with Wikinews.

Started in October 2010, Minetest was an attempt by Ahola to create a sandbox game similar to Minecraft. Minecraft is a multi-platform commercial game, which was in alpha version when Ahola challenged himself to create something similar to it from scratch, he told Wikinews.

Minetest is an open-source game, which is free for anyone to download and play. It is written in the C++ programming language, and the source code is available on code-hosting site GitHub. According to Ahola, Minetest attempts to run on older hardware, with limited graphics, but to be accessible to more people: those who have outdated technology, and making it available for no cost. Minecraft, on the other hand, is a paid game, currently costing USD 26.95 for its computer version. Minecraft is currently owned by Microsoft, and performs poorly on older hardware.

A correspondent from French Wikinews contacted Perttu Ahola via Internet Relay Chat a few weeks ago, discussing Minecraft. This interview is built on top of the previous interview, as we take a deeper dive into knowing more about this free game which is about to turn ten years old in a few months.

The United States military has handed Anbar province, once the centre of Iraq’s Sunni insurgency, to Iraqi control at a ceremony in the provincial capital. For Iraqi politics, the Anbar handover is especially meaningful because the Shiite-dominated Iraq military will now provide security in a largely Sunni province. Anbar is the eleventh of 18 provinces that the coalition has returned to Iraqi control, but it is the first Sunni province. President George W. Bush said that “Today, Anbar is no longer lost to al-Qaeda, it is al-Qaeda that lost Anbar.”

Stanford University has developed an artificial intelligence software that allows their model helicopters to learn complex aerial acrobatics simply by “watching” a human. The human controlled helicopter is monitored by a variety of sensors which funnel all the data into the AI software. Once the acrobatic trick has been repeated a few times, the computer analyzes the data. It is then capable of repeating, with greater accuracy than the human controller, the acrobatics. This system allows the helicopters to preform aerial maneuvers far more complicated than previously possible.
