Questions You Must Ask Before Getting Cosmetic Surgery In Toronto}

Questions You Must Ask Before Getting Cosmetic Surgery in Toronto

by

Dr. Daniel Martin

If you’re looking for the best plastic surgeon in Toronto, you’re bound to find many qualified choices. However, not every qualified plastic surgeon is the right fit for your particular cosmetic surgery needs. It’s important you ask the right questions before scheduling your cosmetic surgery in Toronto. These questions should help you make a proper selection after reviewing potential cosmetic surgeons in preliminary consultations.

 1. Does the cosmetic surgeon have proper credentials?

At the very least, the cosmetic surgeon you’re considering must be a member of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons. There are many cosmetic surgeons that claim to e board certified, however only the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons certifies physicians and surgeons in medical specialties such as those with cosmetic surgery. Don’t forget to verify the information the surgeon provides to see if any disciplinary action was ever taken.

 1. How often have they performed the cosmetic procedure you want?

The cosmetic surgeon you are consulting with might be renowned for breast augmentations, but perhaps he has little experience with performing facelifts. You’ll want to choose one that is experienced in the types of procedures you’re looking to have done.

 1. Do I like the cosmetic surgeon’s aesthetic sense?

Beauty is absolutely in the eye of the beholder. If you’re looking to get your nose reshaped, you’ll want to look through all the before and after photos of the work your potential cosmetic surgeon has performed. Look for consistency in the results and be sure to compare faces that have similarities to yours. If you like what you see and the credentials are there, you might have just found your ideal match.

 1. How welcoming is the staff?

Do you feel comfortable around this cosmetic surgeon? Does the staff make you feel comfortable and welcome? Listen to your gut. The right cosmetic surgeon will answer all of your questions and won’t push you into making a decision. If you feel uncomfortable for any reason, keep looking.

 1. How is the operating facility?

Safety during your cosmetic surgery is extremely important. Don’t be shy about inquiry about the anesthetist or the operating facilities, which should be accredited and contain life support systems in the event that something should go wrong. Again, the right cosmetic surgeon for your needs will be happy to show you the facilities and credentials to back them up.

If you’re looking for the best plastic surgeon in Toronto, and his team of medical professionals are devoted to helping you look your best. Ask any questions and they will be happy to guide you to the best decision for your cosmetic surgery needs.

Plastic Surgeon in Toronto can help you in accomplishing your wanted look and support your certainty about yourself.

Minneapolis I-35W bridge spans Mississippi River">
Minneapolis I-35W bridge spans Mississippi River

August 15th, 2020 | Uncategorized |

Monday, July 7, 2008

The United States bridge that collapsed almost a year ago, spanning the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is close to being reconstructed. The final sections of the northbound lanes of the new Interstate 35W St. Anthony Falls Bridge in Minneapolis, Minnesota were put in place on July 5. The final segment was raised with a barge-mounted crane from the Mississippi River below. A temporary bridge now connects the two segments.

The remaining seven-foot gap will be closed in several days with concrete which is poured in place. The segments for the southbound lanes will now be raised and connected. The segments were cast in a work area which was on the 35W roadbed and were then moved to Bohemian Flats, near the University of Minnesota West Bank campus. A crane places each segment on a barge for delivery upstream to the bridge site.

The bridge may be completed as early as September, well ahead of the scheduled opening date of December 24th.

Bodgit to hold on for victory in his Derby; and several other horses including Super Saver, last year’s winner who actually gave trainer Todd Pletcher his first Derby win ever.

Many horses in Sweden lack passport">
Many horses in Sweden lack passport

August 15th, 2020 | Uncategorized |

Friday, July 22, 2005

Beginning in 2006, all horses in the EU will be required to have passports, according to new rules from the European Union. Two thirds of all horses in Sweden are estimated to not have passports, Britta Lundström at the Swedish Ministry of Agriculture (Jordbruksverket) told news agency TT.

If the owner of a horse doesn’t get a passport for their animal before the end of the year, they will be breaking the law. The Ministry of Agriculture has had problems reaching horse owners who don’t read horse magazines. Because of this, the ministry is planning a campaign this autumn.

The passport contains information on the owner, the race and number. A photograph isn’t mandatory but a description of the horse’s appearance is required.

New book Blown for Good reveals details inside Scientology headquarters">
New book Blown for Good reveals details inside Scientology headquarters

August 14th, 2020 | Uncategorized |

Thursday, November 5, 2009

A new book released today by author Marc Headley, Blown for Good, reveals details inside Scientology headquarters at the organization’s “Gold Base“, located near Hemet, California. Headley joined the organization at age seven when his mother became a member, and worked at Scientology’s International Management Headquarters for several years before leaving in 2005.

While an employee of the Scientology headquarters located in Riverside County, California, Headley had the experience of practicing Scientology counseling services called “auditing” with Scientologist Tom Cruise, shortly after the actor had completed work on the film Days of Thunder. In 1990, Cruise was training to become proficient in the Scientology auditing techniques, and Headley was selected to become the actor’s auditing partner. Though a young actor at the age of 28, Cruise was already known for his work on films including Top Gun and Born on the Fourth of July. Headley writes in the book that he was chosen to work with Cruise because he had not yet progressed in Scientology levels, and because he was seen as a low security risk due to his young age at the time. Headley writes that he worked with Cruise for hours and hours each day, for a period of three weeks, on Scientology techniques called “Training Routines“.

The book provides details of what life was like for the author inside the organization’s headquarters. The inner flap of the book includes a map of the “International Headquarters of Scientology; Gilman Hot Springs, California”. Headley writes that under the direction of Scientology leader David Miscavige, employees who signed billion-year contracts routinely put in 100-hour weeks of work for minimal pay. According to Headley, possible discipline faced by the Scientology employees for perceived mistakes included being separated from family as part of the Scientology policy of “disconnection“, being declared a “suppressive person“, or being sent to the “Rehabilitation Project Force“, a program where Scientologists were assigned harsh labor.

Headley’s tasks while working at the Scientology compound Gold Base included dealing with audiovisual equipment used for organization presentations and speeches by Miscavige, and supervising production of thousands of audiotapes of lectures given by Scientology’s founder L. Ron Hubbard. From 1989 to 2005 Headley worked at the Scientology film production studio on scripts for movies which would be used to instruct new members of the organization on its practices. He faced repercussions from Miscavige if he could not meet production quotas. Headley asserts that he was physically abused by Miscavige, a claim made previously by other former Scientology officials in a series of investigative articles published in the St. Petersburg Times.

The book gives background on a 9-minute long video of Tom Cruise, leaked to the Internet in January 2008, that featured the actor discussing his views on Scientology. The Church of Scientology‘s attempts to remove the leaked video from the Internet motivated the group Anonymous to focus its efforts against the organization. Headley writes that initially the promotional video about Cruise was supposed to feature celebrities including Will Smith speaking about the actor, but Miscavige instead insisted Cruise should simply talk about himself.

Headley describes a form of Miscavige’s management previously related in the St. Petersburg Times, where the Scientology leader made his staff play musical chairs to the Queen song “Bohemian Rhapsody“. Miscavige told 70 Scientology executives that they were to compete for chairs, and that only the last individual left after several rounds would remain at the compound, while the other executives would be assigned to remote locations. After a dramatic competition with multiple staffers in tears that they would be separated from their families, Miscavige stated no one would be removed from the compound.

In 2005, Headley left the Scientology compound in Hemet on a motorcycle, and fell off his vehicle after being chased by Scientology security guards. Riverside County police helped Headley escape from the Scientology security. Headley traveled to Kansas City to meet his father. He was later joined by his wife Claire who had also worked at the Gold Base compound.

I have never read about behavior like this in my life, I can’t imagine it. It’s really weird.

Headley filed suit against Scientology in January 2009. In the legal case, he asserts that Scientology violated United States labor law with regard to his treatment while an employee of the organization. Headley and his lawyer Barry Van Sickle succeeded against attempts by the organization to get the suit dismissed. Headley’s lawsuit is set to begin in U.S. federal court in November 2010.

Headley’s story provides a damning account of life working for Scientology leader David Miscavige at the secretive desert base.

American talk radio hosts John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou discussed the book Wednesday on their program The John and Ken Show on KFI. “This is, the Scientology cult, is I guarantee you, a thousand times more bizarre than you could have ever imagined. And what these celebrities do, like Tom Cruise, is a thousand times more strange than you could ever imagine. I have never read about behavior like this in my life, I can’t imagine it. It’s really weird,” commented one of the hosts about material revealed by Headley in the book. Headley writes in the book that he started to question his involvement in Scientology when secretly listening to The John and Ken Show and watching Conan O’Brien make fun of Scientology celebrities. The National Enquirer reported on the release of Blown for Good, calling it an “explosive new book”.

The book was reviewed Wednesday by the Editor in chief of The Village Voice, Tony Ortega, who characterized it as a “remarkable account”. “Headley’s book also provides stunning material that has rarely been collected in one place, even with the Internet’s deep resources on L. Ron Hubbard’s strange creation. Headley’s story provides a damning account of life working for Scientology leader David Miscavige at the secretive desert base”, wrote Ortega in the review. He commented, “Perhaps the best service that Headley provides with Blown for Good is giving non-Scientologists the sense of what it’s really like to work, day in and day out, in such a strange organization, from the lowliest laborer mucking out excrement in a Gold Base pond (Headley says shit was coming out of his ears and pores for days) to what kind of luxuries the celebrities and high-ranking members enjoy.”

Open source game developer Perttu Ahola talks about Minetest with Wikinews">
Open source game developer Perttu Ahola talks about Minetest with Wikinews

August 14th, 2020 | Uncategorized |

Tuesday, June 30, 2020

Recently, Finnish open-source video game developer Perttu Ahola discussed Minetest, his “longest ever project”, with Wikinews.

Started in October 2010, Minetest was an attempt by Ahola to create a sandbox game similar to Minecraft. Minecraft is a multi-platform commercial game, which was in alpha version when Ahola challenged himself to create something similar to it from scratch, he told Wikinews.

Minetest is an open-source game, which is free for anyone to download and play. It is written in the C++ programming language, and the source code is available on code-hosting site GitHub. According to Ahola, Minetest attempts to run on older hardware, with limited graphics, but to be accessible to more people: those who have outdated technology, and making it available for no cost. Minecraft, on the other hand, is a paid game, currently costing USD 26.95 for its computer version. Minecraft is currently owned by Microsoft, and performs poorly on older hardware.

A correspondent from French Wikinews contacted Perttu Ahola via Internet Relay Chat a few weeks ago, discussing Minecraft. This interview is built on top of the previous interview, as we take a deeper dive into knowing more about this free game which is about to turn ten years old in a few months.

Five Questions To Ask A Professional Painting Contractor Before Hiring

August 10th, 2020 | Design Agency |

Submitted by: Steve A. Parker

The painting contracting industry is an important part of the construction and real estate industry that facility managers and property owners can t do without. Because of this, many unscrupulous entities masquerade as legitimate painting contractors to rip off unsuspecting building owners. How can facility managers protect themselves from these rip-off artists? Often it is as easy as just asking the right questions and getting the right answers.

The right questions can be asked during interview, or as part of written requirements that need to be submitted, or casually posed to the painting contractor during meetings.

1. “WHERE are your legal business documents?”

Business papers and other pertinent legal documents such as contractor s and business licenses, W-9, and insurance certificates are just some of the documents that a legitimate painting contractor can easily provide the facility manager with. It is part of the contractor’s portfolio. Facility managers can use these documents to verify the authenticity of the contractor’s business operations.

2. “WHO can you cite as references of your past works?”

A legitimate painting contractor should have no problem providing a list of references of previous work completed. Many professional contractors will normally include referrals from previous clients, particularly of past projects that were successfully done. Painting companies are proud of client referrals and testimonies. They know that the bigger the client or the project that they have worked with in the past, the better chances of impressing prospective ones and getting the next jobs.

When the facility manager has obtained a reference from the prospective painting contractor, the next step is to contact these clients and acquire information about their experience in working with the said contractor.

3. “HOW do you plan to do the job?”

The painting contractor should be able to provide job details as part of the hiring process. Their plan should be clear on activities, tasks and time lines. Their proposals will tell facility managers whether or not they are capable of doing the job or just simply promising the moon to get hired.

4. “WHY is your price this much or this little?”

An experienced painting contractor will not quote a project price that is either too high or too low, only a fair and actual estimate of project costs. A contractor that quotes too high is potentially out to rip-off the project, or is simple an amateur with no knowledge of correct pricing.

How to tell if the project estimates being put forward are too high or too low? By comparing it with the pricing estimates from other contractors. If the pricing is off, ask the questionable contractor for the reason behind the pricing.

5. “CAN you provide a work warranty?”

A written warranty of the work should be provided by the painting contractor. This is to assure the facility manager that the contractor can remedy or replace any fault or problem that occurs after project completion. The warranty period and scope of post-project work should be specified clearly in the warranty.

Getting as much information out of bidding contractors gives the facility manager a basis in decision-making. The legitimate painting contractor will not shy away from transparency in their answers.
